Why Industrial Design?

When I was growing up as a child my parents tried very hard to make sure that my brother and I took as many art classes as possible. We were lucky to have a great art center in our town that offered a wide variety of classes for all ages. That being said, art has always been something that was practiced in our house. Not only in our immediate family, but most of my ants uncles have made some form of art or design their profession. Notable my moms brother Sean Daw. Sean graduated from Kansas University with a major in Industrial Design. When I was little he would send me various prototypes form the companies he was working for. Slowly he climb the free lance latter and now works for Motorola. He started off in the phone department then later moved to accessories. Sean has designed phones such as the Motorola Q and Motorola Razr. And accessories like Oakley blue tooth sunglasses and head phones. This has been the biggest influence on me wanting to pursue a career in I.D. I remember one birthday he sent me the newest Motorola Q that was not suppose to come out for 6 months. I was the BETA tester for the some of the first prototypes made. All and all he has big one of my biggest influences. Some day I hope to be as accomplished as him.
